October is always a fun time at Moscarillo’s. The pumpkins are here, the nursery is full of fall color, and we’ve got a few extra things happening on the weekends for the kids, too.

If you’re looking for some easy fall family activities in Connecticut, need to pick out your Halloween pumpkins, or have a little fall planting left to do, here’s what we have going on this October.

October 3 & 4

We’re starting the month with a Mini Touch-a-Truck featuring some of our own landscape vehicles. Kids can check out the trucks up close, and we’ll also have cotton candy and balloons while you’re here.

Our Progressive Nursery Sale will be at 30% off, too. Fall is one of the best times to plant trees, shrubs, and perennials in Connecticut, so if there’s a spot in the yard you’ve been meaning to tackle, this is a good time to wander through the nursery and see what catches your eye.

And yes — there will be plenty of pumpkins for Halloween and fall decorating waiting for you, too.

October 10 & 11

The next weekend has even more going on.

On Saturday, October 10, we’ll have face painting for kids, a pottery painting station, and a scavenger hunt. We’ll also have free popcorn both Saturday and Sunday, because wandering around a garden center is obviously better with popcorn.

By then, our Progressive Nursery Sale will have moved to 40% off, with trees, shrubs, perennials, and other great landscape plants still ready for fall planting.

It’s also a good weekend to pick out your Halloween pumpkins, grab some gourds for the porch, and enjoy all the fall stuff that only sticks around for a little while.

October 17 & 18

We’ll keep things going on October 17 with free cotton candy and our nursery sale still at 40% off.

We’ll also be offering free delivery on nursery purchases of $250 or more, which comes in handy if you find a tree, shrub, or a few too many plants that definitely weren’t on your original list.

We’re a small, local garden center, so these weekends are really just about making fall a little more fun around here.

Come pick out a pumpkin, bring the kids, walk through the nursery, grab some popcorn or cotton candy, and enjoy the season with us. Fall is a short one in New England, so we might as well make the most of it.
