This position is very heavy on customer service and candidates must be outgoing and personable. A varied knowledge of trees & shrubs is required to help customers select the appropriate plants for their location. Seasonal positions generally end in early winter.

Moscarillo’s Landscape Installation and Fine Gardening division is seeking skilled Landscape Professionals to join our team. Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of planting trees, shrubs, annuals, and perennials, along with experience in fine gardening practices. Proficiency in operating tools such as motorized edgers, string trimmers, and sod cutters is essential.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and installing new garden beds
- Grading and soil preparation
- Planting and caring for a variety of plants
- Mulching and maintenance of existing landscapes
- Assisting with garden design and layout

Responsibilities include:
- Processing and finalizing customers’ sales accurately through our POS system.
- Greeting customers with a friendly and personable attitude.
- Pricing incoming gift and hardgoods shipments.
- Flexibility to work on other projects around the store or nursery if needed.
The ideal candidate will have these qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in retail or customer service preferred.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors.
- Basic touch screen abilities and ability to learn new technology.
- Ability to stand for a 6 – 8 hour shift and lift 20 – 40 pounds.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Customer Service:
Greeting customer promptly and eagerly upon entering the Garden Center
Servicing customers with plant material, bagged goods, etc.
Answering customers’ questions regarding plant material, plant care, and any other relevant topics.
Loading the customers’ vehicles
Receiving new incoming product
Maintenance of Garden Center
Cleaning of Garden Center on a daily basis, to include:
Blowing off of all hardscapes, inside greenhouses, around gift store, and all gravel areas
Standing up all plant material
Picking up all stakes, tools, etc. that are not in use
Taking out the trash
Maintenance of bagged goods area
Maintenance of Plant Material
Spacing and straightening of plant material
Weeding, pruning/trimming plant material
Blowing off of plant rows
Staking and pick up trees/shrubs

This position is part time 3 days a week.
We are looking for a full or part time dump truck delivery driver for our garden center. Most deliveries are loose soil/mulch deliveries in a dump truck with some floral deliveries in a minivan or promaster depending on need. Hours during our busier season from May through June would be 40 hours per week, with Wednesday and Sundays off. Flexible scheduling available from July through late Fall.
Applicants must have a clean driving record. Please provide relevant job history. Candidates will frequently have to lift over 50lbs and be comfortable loading a dump truck with various machinery.

We are seeking an experienced part time florist to work at our Torrington based Garden Center & Florist
Job responsibilities include:
- Interact directly with customers and respond to questions in a professional and courteous manner
- Ensure that customer orders are met in a timely and satisfactory fashion
- Develop a working understanding of our Flower Shop operation processes and design standards
- Day to day responsibilities will depend on business needs, including and not limited to front end sales, phone sales and floral designing
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation
- Ability to prioritize, be organized and manage time effectively
- Strong computer skill to accurately enter customer orders in the POS system. Proper English grammar and spelling are a must
- Working knowledge of basic Windows computer programs
- Knowledge of FTD Mercury a plus but not necessary
